  9. Bobby B… Thanks, I had the same problem as you with the window disappearing. Thanks for the SHOW ME suggestion. Was able to get the window displayed and fight my through the pop-ups to alter the password and user settings.

    Thanks kevin

  10. Perfect…. I had a bit of trouble where the WinMySQLadmin window disappeared every time the error message occured (seemed like every 3-4 seconds)… I couldn’t close them fast enough to open up WinMySQLadmin window again and make the changes to my.ini

But if you right click on the stoplight icon in the system tray and select “show me,” the window will stay visible while the popup error messages occur, leaving you time enough to navigate to my.ini, find where to edit, and then save the modifications… all the while closing error messages. But once you save, everything is sane again.

    PHEW!

  11. Thank you very much it worked like a charm

  19. Worked, but is it safe? I’m using this only locally, so not really worried, but it seems too simple of a fix and may not be a good idea if the server is serving a public website.

  20. thanks a lot.. i was just worried.. now i have presentation..
    this works now..

  21. Hi, thanks for the fix. Any pointers to why this happens? Seems like using root as the username and no password is a bad idea..

Only using this locally so doesnt make any difference to me.
